Norwich is where my friend Kerry is from. It's also where my friend Leanne is currently living, and where my darling friend Viki has just begun a 1-year program in Marketing, so it was fun to see so many familiar faces in an unfamiliar part of the world. Kerry was an absolutely lovely host, driving me around the countryside and showing me some places near and dear to her heart. We had cream tea at Byford's, Kerry's favorite cafe, in Holt (where David went to school...very small world!). Then we drove to Sherringham, a seaside village, where we dipped our toes in the ocean, popped into some thrift shops, and ate a cone of fantastic Norfolk Lavender ice cream. We had coffee with Kerry's mom and met up with Viki and Leanne later for dinner and a nice, long evening of catching up!
The next day was a lazy, rainy, chilled out day...which is why these last few blog posts have gone up!...didn't get up to much other than going to see Kerry's brother and precious little nephew. Tomorrow we're off on another adventure. Plenty more pictures to come! :-)
Lavendar ice cream!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what that tastes like!
There's a popular lavendar bread recipe floating around out there amongst some of my friends. I didn't think that sounded so good... maybe I should give it a try - and then I'll know for myself!
