Day 5: Oxford

I saved the biggest and most well-known college for my last day in Oxford - Christ Church (of Alice in Wonderland and latter-day Harry Potter fame). Again...impressed with the beautiful architecture and the legacy of extraordinary minds. I also poked around some of the  most enchanting book and stationary shops I've ever seen! This was a dangerous thing to do, but I managed not to spend all of my money. Seriously though...a shop full of beautiful leather-bound books with gold lettering, fountain pens, stamps, compasses, antique globes, model hot air balloons hanging from the ceiling...paradise for the bookworm in me. I also visited Exeter Chapel. And then the time for boarding my evening train to Norwich came.

  1. HARRY POTTER!!!
Never thought of you getting to see where it was filmed! Wow! Just Wow!

Oh, and the quaint book shops... *sigh*
I imagine it smelled really wonderful, too!
I'm sure that if you would've had the time, you could've curled up with a good book and cup of tea and been quite content.

But the dining hall at Hogwarts was modelled after the hall at Christ Church. :)
