Well, I'm gearing up for another trip! This one will be quite different from my usual Asian wanderings. Seeing as several good friends here in Beijing will be in England this summer, I've decided to take advantage of their hospitality and do some travelling in the UK and Europe! It's about time, I suppose...
I'll spend the first half of my trip with my dear friend Kerry, driving around England and visiting attractions and other mutual friends who are home or travelling for the summer. Then Kerry will go to a conference and I'll head to northern Italy for several days (hopefully visiting an old and dear friend from home, and finally meeting his lovely wife!), before heading back to England in time for the 2012 Summer Olympic Opening Ceremonies in London! Well, I won't actually be at the ceremonies, but I will be London and I'm looking forward to soaking of the Olympic atmosphere and excitement in the streets. The grand finale will be a 2-3 day trip down to Paris before returning to Beijing.
My fear is that this trip will merely whet my appetite for European adventures, and I'll spend the rest of my life destitute (as most of Europe is decidedly NOT budget-friendly for tourists!). ;-)

Anyway, I'll be on the move from July 11th (Happy Birthday, Mom!!!) to August 1st. I don't know yet what my internet access will be like, but keep an eye out for new posts!
